... AND HOW YOU CAN TOO!

Greetings!

If you are a writer (or even a determined "wannabe"), and would like to make some great money by writing a quick and easy local interest book... PLUS gain a reputation in your community as a published author, then I  think you'll REALLY  be interested in the story I have to share:

Not too long ago, I self-published a book about -- Christmas.

Actually, it wasn't just about Christmas. It was about Christmas long ago -- the way it used to be celebrated.

And, it wasn't just about how it used to be celebrated. Instead, it was how it used to be celebrated in my home town (Bowling Green,KY). Here's a scan of the cover:






Physically, this little book was nothing fancy -- just a 40 page, 8.5" x 5.5" format saddle-stitched booklet which I had printed at a local print shop.

But that didn't matter. What made it appealing to folks in my community wasn't the production quality of the book -- it was what was INSIDE it that counted.

And inside my book were accounts and stories about Christmas -- 50 years... 75 years... 100 years ago and even earlier -- which took place right here in Bowling Green. Nothing earth-shaking, mind you -- just  reports of parties and celebrations that were held...interesting anecdotes....prices of Christmas gifts from local department stores 75 years ago...kids' letters to Santa Claus which had been printed in the paper...that sort of thing. The book was also well illustrated with some wonderful vintage holiday ads and illustrations used by local businesses in the area way back when.

In short, it was really nothing special--unless you  happen to live in my home town. THEN, it became something you would treasure!

But amazingly, that simple little 40 page book, which took me about one month to research, write,and have printed put a whopping $3,267 in my bank account....without me having to sell a single copy!

As a matter of fact, the entire print run of my book was ALREADY SOLD when I started working on it --  and I had $2,500 in my pocket before I even sat down to write it!

My little Christmas book was BIG NEWS in my community. It was reviewed in the local paper... I appeared on local TV and radio talk shows to publicize it ... and everywhere I went, people told me how much they enjoyed my little "trip down memory lane".

Because of that book, I developed a solid local reputation as a published author -- opening the door to all sorts of other writing projects and even some consulting work!

And even better -- it is the kind of project that I can re-do over and over again, whenever I want to... (in fact, I am doing just that as you read this!)
