Prince Gigi & The Magic Ring
Dear Friends,
It doesn't seem very long ago that this happened...
I was busily tap tapping away at the computer in my office (the converted storage barn) when ten year old Jessica quietly entered and stood at my side, just watching.
"Dad?"
"Yes, Jessica?"
"Are we still sending out our favorite radio shows to people over the internet?"
"Yes we are. In fact, that is what I am working on right now."
"Okay." Pause. "Dad?"
"Yes, Jessica?"
"Whose favorites are they?"
"Well, they're the ones you kids have liked the most with your school work. All the good book stories you've been listening to."
"Oh. Those ARE good." Pause. "So... then you've put MY favorite show on there already?"
"Excuse me?"
"You've put MY favorite show on there... haven't you?"
"Er... um... well, I -- that is, I -- Hmmmm. What IS your favorite show?"
"Let's Pretend. They always have the neatest stories."
"Oh, that's the program with all the old fairy tales and legends, isn't it? Uhhhh... no, not in quite a while."
"You haven't? But that's MY favorite!"
"Yes, but --"
"I think the kids would really, really like it."
"Well, you're probably right, but --"
"And the story I want you to put on there for them is 'Prince Gigi and The Magic Ring'. That's the best."
"Oh. So you've already picked that one out, have you?"
"Yes. I've thought about it for a long time. That one is the best. You'll put it on won't you?"
"Well..." I looked her in the eye and smiled. "Yes. I think I will."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome."
And a hug sealed the deal.
So here you go. This week's show comes with two thumbs up from Jessica. "It's the best."

Prince Gigi and The Magic Ring
This fine adaptation of the classic fairy tale was originally dramatized on the children's program "Let's Pretend". It was first broadcast on September 19, 1942. By the way, if your kids enjoy this week's program, be SURE to check out our great CD collection from which it comes, "Fairy Tales & Wonder Stories"! NOTE: If the file just starts playing over your computer right away, that's because you clicked the link with the LEFT hand button on your mouse. You need to click the RIGHT HAND button to download the whole show to your computer.
IF you right click the link and your computer does not allow you to "save target", you need to adjust your computer's security settings (or disable your "internet content advisor" settings) to allow downloaded files.
MAC USERS: In order to download these files, hold down the Control key then click the link with your mouse. It will then download to the directory you choose.
If your download is unusually slow, it could be because our server is busy or overtaxed. You might try again at a later hour. It should - eventually - work fine.
